Phase Three - Project Control:

There is no doubt that phase three of Project TWIG is going to be a big undertaking. Due to the catastrophic effect of this winter, researchers must reassess population and environmental statistics, especially with the upcoming litters. Once this is accomplished, new vaccinations and tagging may be required, as well as introducing a new handful of relocated wolves.

New Programs and Legislations :

Measures to further the development of Xanctsu Island and Project TWIG are being taken. The WEO is taking the lead in implementing a new policy aimed at protecting and enhancing the forest resource lands. Some of the programs and legislation currently in place include:

Wildlife Habitat Improvement Program: provides support to the community to enhance the environment. This includes, but isn't limited to, habitat restoration, stream and forest enhancement, erosion control, etc.

Environmentalist Program: will annually hire people of the community to work with Project TWIG in numerous tasks.

Anti-littering Laws: new laws effective immediately, that administer fines up to $10,000.

Educational Program: designed to educate the public concerning the environment and the wolves of the island.

Musher's Board Committee: A committee made up of Kaono's resident mushers to oversee the care of Xanctsu's trails, as well as race organization, safety, and animal treatment.
