You can use images in your in-character posts, as long as the image is no higher than 300 pixels, and no wider than 550 pixels. You are not permitted to have pictures in your signature.
This is a para-descriptive game, geared towards writers: minimum 2-3 paragraphs, no fancy and otherwise incorrect lingo, and descriptive, interesting and interactive content. Don't feel restricted when exploring your character and the world it is interacting in- have fun with it. Don't worry if sometimes you just cannot post a good, long post! We're all human and we all have off days!
Please have a basic knowledge of wolves and, if you choose to play a dog or human, it would be wise to learn about dog sledding.
No magic. No winged characters. Keep appearances to things we see in reality, please.
There is a character limit! You can only have a maximum of six characters. If you wish to have more, you must first get permission from the administrators (Ivv, Losty).
Please do not join more than 2 characters over the period of about two weeks, as Wanderlust is fairly engaging with its plotlines, and we wouldn't want characters to go unnoticed and then get abandoned. Establish your first characters, and THEN consider a new one if you must.
Breeding for both dogs and wolves must be approved by the owners first and foremost. We don't want a billion litters of pups running around. After that, a wolf must have permission from its alphas, and for a dog, the musher must want the puppies.
Do not, under any circumstances, feel it is ok to advertise your game via the C-Box or Personal Messaging system. By doing so you are abusing the forum and will get an immediate warning added to your account. Its dishonest and disrespectful to the site and the owners who have worked to attract members based on the quality of our own site. So, bottom line - do not abuse the site. Advertise via the advertising board only!
WOLVES
There is only one alpha male and one alpha female to a pack (or one without the other). Though there are no designated territories, there still are just two leaders (maximum) per pack.
Wolves can talk. They can talk to other wolves and other canines. They cannot talk to humans. They are not magic, we only allow talking to make wolves seem more sub-human and more enjoyable to roleplay.
No, you cannot start your own pack. The owners will make new packs as they see if - the packs are meant to fit in with the overall site plot.
DOGS
Dogs can talk. They can only talk to other dogs and other canines. Not to humans.
The lead dog on a sled team can be decided both by the trainer (by placing that dog at the head of the sled to lead the rest) and by the dog and "pack" itself through establishing dominance. However, please note that your lead is NOT necessarily the first dog that you get.
You may NO LONGER join a dog that is already claimed, nor claim a dog at a joining post. All dogs MUST be posted at the Forlorn, and you must post your character in reply to the thread in order to successfully claim it. Should two people arrive for the same dog and a choice is not made by the players as to who gets it, a dice will be rolled.
HUMANS
Humans living on the island do not have to be from Canada. Whether they are immigrants or were born in Canada is purely up to the role player.
Dogseld is the only means of transportation (unless you want to walk everywhere), so starting a team is wise upon joining.
Humans involved in Project TWIG are pre-chosen. If more members are required, the owners will discuss it on the OOC Board.
Mushers can decide whether they want their dogs spayed/neutred. This decision lays with the musher, and not the role player of the dog(s).
