It may be a small island, but there's no doubting that what Xanctsu might lack in size is made up for in character. This island has been carved out the toil of trace and trail; its original settlers were hunters and mushers, and it was the latter who began the annual, world famous Xanctsu Quest - a race that took mushers across Xanctsu's mountains, forests, lakes and fields. Since then, mushers have come from all over to live, train, and compete.
It was only within the last ten years that Xanctsu's popularity and versatility has grown. In an attempt to stray from harsh world issues, some non-musher folk have opted to celebrate a simpler way of life, packing up their things and moving to the island. This has allowed for Xanctsu's resources to grow, with new businesses and opportunities presenting themselves to the townspeople.
It was also within the last five years that the island has agreed to play host to a wolf relocation project titled 'The Wolf is Good' (or 'TWIG'), and the Xanctsu Wildlife Research Center was built.
